FYE

For your entertainment, some interesting facts about the state of HI.  For no reason in particular:

  • The state of Hawaii consists of 8 main islands.
  • Hawaii is the only state that grows coffee.  Paradise.
  • More than 1/3 of the world's commercial supply of pineapples come from Hawaii.
  • There are only 12 letters in the Hawaiian alphabet:  Consonants are H, K, L, M, N, P, W.  Vowels are A, E, I, O, U.
  • Hawaii was formed from undersea volcanoes hundreds of years ago.
  • Hawaii is the 50th state admitted to the union in 1959.
  • Hawaii is known as the "Aloha State".
  • The state fish is the Humuhumunukunuku apua'a, also known as the reef triggerfish.
  • Honolulu is the state capital.
  • Hawaii is an archipelago.  Channel your 4th grade geography teacher for that one.

Hope your having a great Wednesday.  I'm not doing anything particularly special.

Oops- It's Wednesday

I actually forgot that it's Wednesday even though regular Wednesday things did happen today.  No Whatever Wednesday today.  I'm actually way behind now on work so I can't spare that many minutes.  I'm trying to get as much editing done before the weekend.  But, I do have time to show you this picture.  This session is actually third on my list but I always have to come home and look at them.  I couldn't wait to see these especially.  Meet baby Gage.  He is the beautiful boy of the beautiful momma that I photographed a month ago.

Does anyone remember what it was like to be a first time mom?  The feeling of elation and thrill and anxiety all at the same time?  It's amazing.

Back to work.

So Close We Could Smell It

The rain.  We've been in need of it for some time now.  Yesterday evening we got 16 minutes worth.  Of course the Hubs will still complain that it wasn't enough.  But I say take what we can get.  It was nice.

The girls ran into it.

And the snails ran from it.

These things really gross me out.  But the girls found them on the porch and played with them.  I'm actually surprised that they could even see them.  They were smaller than dimes.  But, eewww.
