M Family

We went out to the river to take pictures of this beautiful family.  Mason goes to school with Vienne.  And adorable Clarissa would just melt your heart.  Keep a look out on Etsy for this mom.  One of these days she'll take our advice and start a shop.  She makes some wondefully cute clothing for her kiddos.  Thanks, Michelle, for letting me spend time with your sweet family.

How To Be An Explorer

This is a stretch but the theme at Stacy's today is "Storyteller".  I have no storyteller pictures but I have been wanting to tell you about this book that I bought Natalya.  I bought this book strictly by the title which I rarely do.  But it sounded interesting and it really is.  And it's so perfect for my little explorer.

In a nutshell, it provides the reader with different ways to view the world differently.  One of the explorations that Natalya has done is to document all of the hidden faces that you see whether in nature or man-made objects.  The "World of Magic" exploration asks you to collect things for their "magic potential" and write a story about them.  For example, a magic pinecone could be planted to grow a magic tree that makes everyone who sits under it sleepy.  It's perfect for Natalya who is in the 2nd grade but I think that even preschoolers could use it with your help.  Vienne plays along sometimes.  It's really encourages creative thinking.  Go explore.

I VOTED!

10 reasons why you should vote:

  • Because we care about our children's future.
  • If you don't, someone else will.  They will get to make the decisions, you won't.
  • Every vote counts.  Your vote may be the deciding vote.
  • It establishes you as a solid, decision making part of your community.
  • Our right to vote was established long ago.  Some countries are just acquiring that right.  It is what makes us American.
  • To be apart of American history.
  • Because our past generations did not have as many opportunities in this Democratic process as we do now.  We owe it to them.
  • Because you want others to know what you stand for.
  • Because we can.
  • Hmm.  Could only come up with nine.  Thought I was on a roll.  What can you add?  Why should we vote?

The Winner Is...

...This shot by Anna!  Congrats to you.  Email me your address and a $15 iTune gift card will be on it's way to your wallet.  If you don't already visit Anna's blog she is the master of all trades.

And no prize for this photo but our second choice was this photo by the awesomely talented and ADORABLE Megan (you have to click to see how adorable she is) who by the way is ELEVEN years old.  Talented, yes she is.  Had to give her a shout out.

Thanks to the wonderful Alissa for helping me judge.  If I ever have another contest I will NOT be judging.  It is way too hard.  I feel a personal connection with every entry and feel like everyone should win for some reason or another.  Thanks to everyone who entered.
