Boerne Champion HS Senior- Camilla

You know when you just have a session or great set of photos that just brings you back to life?  Like maybe you'd been a rut for awhile but then all of a sudden a subject just fills your soul with light.  That was this session.  Truly.  When her mom called me months ago to book the session, I knew then that I would love working with this family because she complimented me so much on a session that I did for a friend of hers.  Just KIDDING!  She seemed so open to just letting me do what I do.  I loved that.

This is the Camilla and family.  Camilla is a senior at Boerne-Champion HS.  Isn't she stunning?!  All of the sisters are, you'll see.

Camilla played on the varsity basketball team for three years.  Beauty and brawn.

Camilla will be going to Texas A&M University to study Civil Engineering this Fall.  Beauty, brawn, and brains.  Triple threat.

AND she's a rodeo girl.  Who wouldn't love that.

The lovely Gabriella, 14 years old.

And the lovely Isabella, 12 years old.  I told you- beautiful.  I always thought that if I had three kids I would have loved three of the same.  Sweet.

A little sister love.

The lucky ducks spent Spring break in Hawaii.  They came back with nice tans and fun fun stories.  Coincidentally, I stopped before the session to pick up these bottles.  Sunkist.  Get it?  Anyone.

Thanks, Elizabeth for calling me!  I had so much fun.  Girls, beautiful.

Happy St. Patty's Day.  Natalya says that if you are not wearing green today, she will pinch you.  Be warned.

Spring Break

We just finished a whole week of Spring break.  And what a great week it was.  We really did nothing.  We made no plans, we woke up way too late, we stayed in our jammies all day long.  Well, the rain kinda helped us make those decisions but there was no complaints from anyone here.  We really needed the rain.  And we really loved the break.

Natalya did attend horse camp last week.  In the rain.  But those horse crazy girls don't care if there's rain or shine.  Being at the barn in the rain was way better than being at home in the sun.  But she did have her first good fall off her horse.  Had I gotten the news any other way than at pick up while seeing her I would have freaked out.  But knowing she was fine while getting the news I was not so worried.  Natalya got scared but that was all.  She is the only one at her stables that wears a vest.  And we are sooo glad that she does.  She was back on the horse the next day without a worry.  She's definitely not ready to give it up yet.

I had a senior session yesterday that brought back some creative energy for me.  I had so much fun.  I really can't wait to do it again.  And to show you the pictures.  Maybe tomorrow.

The top one here is My Best Shot for today but I had to show this one too.

This was the harem of wild turkeys that I had to stop for coming home from the barn one day last week.  Funny.  But funnier was the male that followed behind.  He let them cross and then s l o w l y crossed after them ruffling his feathers like he was all that.  Crazy creatures.

Happy Monday to ya!

Beautiful

This is my new favorite picture of my girl.  But, geesh, she looks old.  This is My Best Shot for today.  And it also goes in the pool for this month's One Word Challenge at Shutter Sisters.  The word for this month is "Beautiful".  Ain't she?  Not only on the outside but she truly is on the inside.

Natalya and I have been wanting to learn to knit for awhile.  We've talked about it and I kept saying, "OK, I'll learn first so that I an teach you."  A couple of Christmases ago, I gave Natalya a learn to knit kit in hopes that we both could learn from the kit that was for children 7 and up.  She was not 7 yet but I thought I could at least learn from it.  I'm telling you, I looked at those instructions a million times and could not decipher them.  Nothing beats real instruction I guess.  In comes our ever talented friend Nicole, who by the way is a wondeful super knitter and all around craft handy person.  Nicole got me started and now I'm a knittin' fool (although I told that to Nicole and she said that knitters were not fools.)  Natalya and I knitted the scarf above from the kit and she loves it!  And she truly loves it more because, as she says, "We made it with our own hands."  As of right now I can only do the one knit stitch so all four pieces that I have going are without much pattern.  But I'm having fun.  Oh, and Youtube has helped me out, too.  It's the person actually showing me how to do it that makes the difference.

Let the Light Shine Down

A little warmth going out to my friend Erica and all of you under a blanket of snow.  I truly cannot imagine what it's like to shovel snow, blundle up three kids for any outing (my girls hate jackets on in their car seats), and, darn it, be cold all the time.  I was about to say "hang in there" but I just remembered that it's only January.  Living in S. Texas you kinda have to be reminded by a calendar that there are seasons.
