How To Be An Explorer

This is a stretch but the theme at Stacy's today is "Storyteller". I have no storyteller pictures but I have been wanting to tell you about this book that I bought Natalya. I bought this book strictly by the title which I rarely do. But it sounded interesting and it really is. And it's so perfect for my little explorer.
In a nutshell, it provides the reader with different ways to view the world differently. One of the explorations that Natalya has done is to document all of the hidden faces that you see whether in nature or man-made objects. The "World of Magic" exploration asks you to collect things for their "magic potential" and write a story about them. For example, a magic pinecone could be planted to grow a magic tree that makes everyone who sits under it sleepy. It's perfect for Natalya who is in the 2nd grade but I think that even preschoolers could use it with your help. Vienne plays along sometimes. It's really encourages creative thinking. Go explore.

What an amazing sounding book! My nieces are the perfect age for it--thanks for the Christmas tip. Gorgeous photos to illustrate your story as well!
That sounds like a wonderful book! I think that is going on the "must buy" list. I love books that are interactive and foster creativity. That's the reason I bought "The Dangerous Book for Boys". ;)
Love the shots, too. :)
Yep, I am going to have to check that book out. I LOVE books especially ones that make our little ones think about things in a different way.
That really does sound like a great book and it sounds like the girls are enjoying it too. Creativity is so important. It amazes me the things children come up with. Great perspective on both shots.
That sounds like a great book. Reminds me of an alphabet book I got out of the library for W.W. Turn the book upside down and the letter takes the shape of something else like a frog eye or paint dripping or an outlet plug. Really neat. Sounds like an awesome book. And I think it works well with the theme because storytelling can happen in so many different ways and sometimes it's all in the interpretation.
Definately gonna check that book out! As always you take beautiful pics!
sounds like a great find -- i'll have to pick that up; thanks for the tip!

The book sounds wonderful...I love books that allow (and help) kids view life imaginatively. And the photo of Natalya shows exactly how captivating the book is...delightful childhood shot.
