Life's Little Adventures

So the other day I had this bright idea to stop by this little church that I love and finally take a picture of it.  It's down the street from our little local bakery so I see it all the time (yes, that means I'm at the bakery all the time.)  It was sort of hazy and still early.  I was thinking about how the sun was burning through and how it will eventually be a lovely day.  So I park my car at the curb, not nicely because I was just going to snap a few shots and go (friends were meeting me soon.)  I turn the car off and think, "I don't want to hold my keys so I'll leave them here on the seat.  No, maybe better to drop them on the floor.  Safer there."  Do you see where this is going?  I drop the keys, get out of the car, and walk for about 5 seconds and hear a beep from the car.  Insert sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach here.  My car doors locked.  It all worked out in the end after about 45 minutes and a lock smith who was probably as old as the little town we live in.  I was hoping that I was not going to have to resuscitate him and open the car by myself.  Anyway, our On Star is now activated, all is good.  It's a new car and now I have to figure out why it happened.  And now the shots that started the whole thing.

That is what I wanted.  This is My Best Shot for today.  And this is what I got while I was waiting for the lock smith...

Imperfection

IMG_7469%20b%20ipvan%20email.jpg

This is my sweet V.  She's not perfect.  She whines too much (but is getting better), she runs when I say walk, she changes her clothes 12 times a day and leaves the clothes all over the floor (yesterday she wanted to wear her swim suit after school), she has two scrapes on the backs of her legs.   But it's all of the imperfections that make my Hip Chicks all the more perfect.  I'm grateful that she has energy to run, that she sees beauty in herself, that she has the courage to get back up again.  How do you view perfection?

I'm thinking about entering this.  I love this photographer and would love to learn from her.  She's asking for umbrella photos.  So I got out the nicest umbrella we have and got Vienne a modeling (I just wanna pinch her cheeks).  I don't know yet if I will use this photo.  There may be more umbrella photos coming.

Wanna Share?

Vienne and I just discovered blackberries.  I don't think I had ever had one until two weeks ago.  We could fight over the last one.

Angel

IMG_7009%20a%20ipvan%20email%202.jpg

This is My Best Shot for today.  I had so much luck yesterday taking these pictures that I couldn't decide which I liked better.  So for more of my Angel, see the slide show below. And for more Best Shots, visit Mother May I.

Spring break started out with some very Spring (or Summer) like weather.  But it's all good cuz I like it hot!  Don't quote me when I start complaining mid Summer when the Texas heat becomes unbearable.  I will be camping out at the new house today with no tv, no internet.  They are coming to hook all those things up today.  The girls will get to hang with Grandma while I twiddle my thumbs hoping they come closer to noon then 5:00.   Haven't moved in yet, hopefully on Friday.

Photographer Crossing

Practicing my cross processing.  It' s so fun when you learn something new.  This little stretch of road is so cute.

Not sure why I had time to kill this day, but was driving around our sweet little town and come across this sign.  So I stopped to take a picture of it.  Not 10 seconds later, I saw this...

It made my day.  When I pulled up to them, they didn't even hurry along.  Like they knew they had a sign and this was their road.

On another note, it hit a record high of 96 degrees yesterday.  The previous record was 93 degrees set in 1971.  Hmmm.  I hope this is not a sign of things to come.
