Monday is Dandy

The dandelion pics are everywhere and there have been some really awesome ones.  I took some pics of some dandelions about a week ago, then saw what others had done, and I was not happy with the ones I took.  So, I tried again and came up with these.  I found that when photo-ing something so ordinary you kinda have to find a twist- shoot with a macro, add light, change perspectives, or have patience and wait for something extraordinary to happen.  Dandy.

I had a great Mother's Day that included lots of food, lots of love, lots of whining (well, would be a day without that), lots of gratitude.  My girls are truly the best beings ever and I couldn't have asked for two more special people to call my kiddos.  I'll be sad when the day comes that I don't get a handmade gift from them.

Happy Monday!

Very cool Melody. I am intrigued by the first shot done from the back of the dandelion. Now Im going to have to try that one! They have such magical little feelers to them and are so fun to shoot. A little tricky if your outside and its windy, but so delightful when you see your results! Great shots!!

How funny, I took pictures of a dandelion this weekend also. Very ordinary though I gave up because Harrison was tugging at me with his words. (and I only had a 24-70 lens with me) So it got trumped by wooden people instead. I thought of posting them today - but NO!
Love the prospective you got.

Love the DOF in that top shot! I've been shooting these puff balls in my yard, too. Nice work!

I love the perspective of the one from underneath, I would not have thought of that. The DOF in the second is great and gives it a really dreamy feeling.

I love the second photo. The DOF is excellent and I really enjoy the detail.

Btw, this is my first visit to your journal and I absolutely love the look of it. What a great header and background. The layout seems very easy to navigate. Gotta explore here a little bit more. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful close up. You've made the seek pods look so soft and spindly really nice shot.

And now you've added two more spectacular images to the pool of dandelion beauty floating around! Phenomenal, Melody. So soft and delicate and lovely. I LOVE dandelions! I just wish I could get in super close to capture them like this. But for now I'll enjoy it thru you, and all the other sweet images you shared.

Love these shots! I have yet to photograph dandelions, though we have plenty in our yard. That's probably the problem. I very much see them as weeds. ;)

Glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day!

I love the shot of the first dandelion! The view from the underside of the dandelion with the vibrant green against the white show's just how delicate this little flower really is (I don't like to think of dandelions as weeds) Beautiful shot!
