Horsin' Around

Well, hello, Monday. How ya doin'? I really think I'm still trying to recover from the holiday. My to do list is about as long as my leg but I'm slowly knocking 'em off one at a time. I was finally able to get the play room cleaned out this weekend. I think the girls will actually be able to play in it now. I think it's just as hard for me to get rid of toys because with each toy donated is a memory. I know that cheesy but everytime I asked, "Can we get rid of this? I think you're a bit too old for it now" I think, man, when did they get too old for this? And am I the only person that still has Christmas ornaments out? All of the other decorations are put away but the ornaments are still out because I've been looking for the ornament storage boxes. You know the ones with the dividers? Hard to find after the holidays. They probably will be safe if I just wrap them up and put them away but I really had my heart set on the divider boxes. Anyway.
Yesterday, the stables invited the kiddos over to make horse treats and to decorate the barn for Valentine's Day. So much fun. The girls stuffed apples with molasses and oats and got to feed the horses. I think the horse just might have a bit of a tummy ache today.
This is Natalya's favorite horse, Holly.
And this is Vienne's favorite horse, Blue. Blue lets Vienne treat him like she does our dog, a little rough and a lot playful.
I'm thinking that first shot is My Best Shot for this Monday. Here's to a great week.

Love these. I still have my Christmas books and stuffed animals out. I have promised myself to do a deep clean of every room this week.
I love these photos...they make me miss riding so much. These photos immediately take me back to that sweet horsey smell they have. I love the way they smell.
I love the bow in Holly's mane and the wild old chairs in the last one. It's so great that the girls are able to get up close and personal with horses. What a fantastic experience/opportunity. So many kids only see animals behind fences or in glass boxes. My sister is a keen rider.
My girl has been begging to ride a horse lately. I half expect her to be intimidated when we do get to a stable, tho. Your girls look like naturals. It does look like a wodnerful time. Oh, and my tough-guy husband is the one that gets sentimental about parting with any outgrown toys!
Beautiful shots. I don't think I can pick a favorite.
i love the little pink bow in the horse's mane. but i'm riveted by what looks like a torture seat of the inquisition in that last shot -- what IS that?
What fun! The horse that my daughter rides is a sucker for peppermints....her breath always smells lovely after the ride ;)
The second shot is my fav....I love the pink bow and pink shirt to match~ What a pair!
Happy Monday :)
what magnificent horses! the shot with your little one in the bright pink shirt against the black and white horse is stunning...they all are, but that's my fave :)
I think all of them are great!
Ok- just love these pictures! If I had to pick a favorite it would be the one with the pink bow. I love all the pinks mixing together and the great color of the photo overall. Super Super!
oh that Blue is beautiful...
horses... so pretty yet so powerful!
loving your shots to pieces!
The horses are incredible, love the bows. Great photos.
I love Holly licking Natalya's hand! What a fun day for everyone. :o)
I love the pink bow in the horse's mane - very cute.
This makes me miss riding too! I only did it for a bit when I was young but wow these bring back memories!
Beautiful shots and I love your processing on them! That is so wonderful that your girls get to experience horses. I wish we lived closer to my parents so we could get the kids on the horses more. Of course, the ponies they have are all half-broke, so I'm not sure riding the ponies would be a good idea. ;)
Blue is such a great name for that horse, what a distinguished face too. Great shot. What fun to feed horses treats and decorate for Valentines day. :)
Gorgeous photos all! I love the first one, but I could see the second one hanging on a little girl's bedroom wall. It's beautiful!!
I'm so mad that I switched over to NewsGator and it didn't pick up your feed this week! Grrr...
