Design

Not sure what possessed me but I decided to try my hand at designing a card this evening.  I have been searching for Valentine's Day card templates and although I've seen lots of nice stuff I kept wondering what was involved and could I do it.  Well, it was a bit tedious but not hard.  I'm thinking that the hardest part is the collecting of elements to put on the card.  Here is what I came up with:

Not bad for my first attemtpt.  Don't you dare burst my bubble!  Just kidding of course.  I'd actually like comments about it.  And, since I'd like to know if it's actually useable, I am even willing to let you have it and play with it.  My stipulations:  Do not try to sell it as yours, credit me when you can, let me know about glitches, ease of use, blah blah, and please don't pass the download on but rather send them here to get it.  I cannot guarantee anything since this was my first try and I'm willing to post that it didn't work out for anyone.  I'd like to learn from it.  I use CS3 so I know it works for CS3.  It is 5x7 with an edge bleed for printing.  It comes in layers and it's editable.  Any elements can be moved or turned off, text can be changed.

If you want it leave a comment here with your email and I will figure out how to send it to you.  FUN!  Oh, and that's cutiepie Addie who just turned 3.  Happy Birthday, Princess Addie!

You did a faboulous job! I love to learn to design cards too. Everytime I start it it always gets into a lot of detail and I put it off. Where did you find your items to put on the card? It looks great!

You made a wonderful card! I love the addition of the february calendar on it too with the little heart down at the bottom. Nice layout. I would love a copy if you don't mind. Although your picture in it is too precious. :)

You did a great job! Yes, the most time consuming part is bringing all the creative elements together. If I sent out V-day cards I would totally use this. :) Love that shot in it, too. It all ties together very nicely.

I love it! That's a really wonderful first attempt, would never have known it if you hadn't said it. (Really cute picture in there, too. Love the old peeling paint on the chair, really adds to the vintagy feel of the card)

I really like your card. Especially the scrollie thing and the textured background. I like to play around with these things too and these two websites have a lot of stuff. You kinda have to weed through a lot to find what you want but the choices are endless and the gallerys are extensive... http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/, http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/. What sites are you finding your elements from?

I hope it's not too late - but I absolutely love this card and would love a copy! It would be nice to send for my little girl's birthday. By chance can you still email it to me?

Also, I'm a big fan of your photography and writing!
