Randomness

Well, Vienne didn't do horribly at school this first week, but she did cry some.  When I pick her up she's having fun and is doing well.  She's such a momma's girl and she knows that life can be easier at home, so it will take some adjusting.  Her teachers also say that she gets tired and nap time helps.
We've had to have dinner earlier this week.  Boy are the girls starving when they get home!  And in hopes that I can keep the snacks away a little I don't mind eating dinner earlier than our usual early, now at about 4:30.  So far it's working out and I really think it helps with the grumpies.
I took a new class at the gym yesterday that had some step and some weight/strength.  I'm sore today but I think I like that class.  Although, I've never taken a step class before and don't think I really like step.  But I do like the cardio and weights in one class.  It took me a long while to get the hang of the step sequences.  I sort of laughed my way through class trying to get the simple step up alternate kick slide over step down thingy.  And while I'm laughing at myself, miss fancy pants next to me is getting it while adding a twist and a turn and a few high kicks.  Show off.
Talk has already started here about Halloween costumes and how Summer is supposed to be ending soon.  It really doesn't here in South Texas for awhile longer.  I really felt like a doof last week when I bought two sweaters 'cause I won't be able to wear them for awhile.  Wishful thinking.  I do have lots of sessions to post, getting back into the swing of things first.

Glad the week didn't go too bad. Dinner at 4:30, though?? Wow, that's early!

Back when I was in college I took a step class, and really liked it. Time got to be too crunched though so I had to stop going. You will get the steps down in a week, maybe two, and after that it comes really easy. :)

I know you got a few high steps left in you Mel! Dinner there sounds like it's been here, Austin wolfed down dinner last night like he hadn't eaten in a week! No complaints on my end. Glad Vienne is adjusting!

I can't seem to get dinner on the table any earlier than 5-5:30, so I've been putting out a tray of veggies with dip out while I'm cooking. This way Jaden can snack all he wants before dinner, and he's not filling up on junk.

I bought a sweater at Anthrpologie last week, thinking it may be January before I can wear it, but it was too cute to pass up. I wish the stores around here didn't stock sweaters until at least November!

Dinner at 4:30 is early!! We sometimes eat at 5...and, it really does work out better somehow!

I was laughing when i read about you and the step class..I hate the beginning of aerobics/step type classes...I feel like an idiot when everyone else is doing the steps perfectly...good that you can just laugh at yourself! Stacy is right, though, you will get the hang of it after a few classes!

We were walking around Target yesterday and I was drooling over all of the cute little boys fall clothes...but, I restrained from buying anything considering they won't be wearing that stuff for a few months! Why don't they keep summer stuff around longer down here?

Step used to be my favourite but nowadays my old brain has difficulty getting new combinations. If I get it right first time I'm ok but if i lose it....that's it I have a mental blank every time I get to that part... *sigh* so I've been sticking to the treadmills and running with a self directed abs and legs session thrown in afterwards. The last class I did was the weights class that triggered my shoulder agony. Turns out I have calcification and tendonitis in the shoulder. Gee it sucks getting older :-(
Glad V is settling down though. Food on return home is a good idea. Low blood sugar=really crabby kids....

I'm pleased that your daughters first week at school wasn't too painful. My son starts school for the very first time this week and I'm feeling nervous about it.

Glad V seems to be adjusting fairly well. She'll do fine. Love the sun flare through trees.

LOL about step class. Former instructor here and I LOVE step. You might too once you get the hang of it. Me, I'm the one jumping and twirling that you mentioned. :)

Why did she feel the need to add a twist to the routine? Ha! Glad that V is handling school alright!
