Summer Lovin'

Here are the pictures from our trip to the Bahamas. I really made a conscious decision not to lug "the third child" (aka camera) around all the time. As you know, it becomes cumbersome to have to watch it all the time, keep it dry, etc. It did take one possibly life threatening spill on the first day we got there. Luckily, it survived with only a headache. But you should have heard the noise it made when it hit the ground. Eek.
We had a really great time. We stayed at a really nice hotel that was totally kid friendly. Wall to wall kids. Sorry to those who honeymooned there because you probably got splashed by our children. The weather was great. We had two days when it rained in the evening but it left us with plenty o' fun in the sun. One of those evenings we ordered room service and the girls thought it was the best thing ever. What kid wouldn't like eating in bed?
Natalya again panicked because of the monster 3 inch fish. I have to admit, the fish freaked me out, too. But they are still talking about the dolphin.
Beauty comes at a price. Both girls were in tears by the end of it. The ladies doing the braiding must have been pulling a little hard, it was at the end of the first day we were there, they each sat for a good 45 minutes, and I hadn't combed there hair that day because we had to wake up 4:00 am to get the flight.
This might be the only evidence of me being on this trip. This was taken by Natalya at dinner one night. All in all, I'd recommend the Bahamas. Actually, I'd recommend the hotel. We only left the resort once and that was for the dolphin experience. The water was gorgeous, the temperature was perfect. When I was little, we didn't go on big family vacations often. I'm so glad that we are fortunate enough to be able to share this kind of trip with the girls. I hope that they can look back on this years from now and remember how much fun they had.

I have been wondering what you look like. Hee!Hee! Sometimes it is nice to show up in a photo to document that you were really around. I absolutley LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tunnel shot. It is so amazing. It looks like you guys had a great trip. My daughter would be beside herself if she got to touch, play, and kiss a dolphin.
So many awesome experiences and pictures - I don't know what to comment on! I'm so glad you had a good time. I love the girls braids! And to a dolphin-lover like me, that might be just about the coolest thing ever.
Wow, your pictures are stunning! The girls are so beautiful. And I love the last one of you two. We don't get many of those! I'd say Natalya takes after her mom in photography skills!

Looks like it was a wonderful time! All of those shots are great. My favorties are the tunnel and the black and white one. that is such a sweet shot.

take me next time, I wont braid so tight, I'll keep away the fish and lug around the camera. Is that an okay deal? I'll even take the girls at night so that the hip couple can go out...I'll do anything to get to swim in that water.

Looks like fun! I love the one in bw of your youngest. Your comment about the fish cracks me up...my kids are the same way about the man-eating houseflies! Look forward to meeting you at our photogeek lunch.
great shots - looks like fun. heard there was a "clothes optional" area at this resort from a travel agent and am not ready to expose the kids. please tell me it's not true!
SO WEIRD - We just saw an ad for Atlantis a few nights ago and I told J. that is where I want to go on our next family vacation! It looks AMAZING!! And the dolphin just sealed the deal...I definitely think we need to go, now.
Your photos are fantastic, as always...I love the tunnel one and the very first one - I so love the color of the Caribbean water. And N! What a great little photog she is becoming! I'm glad you got in one of the photos!!
Oh, and room service is on of our fave things to do when we are on vacation, too! The girls think it is such a treat. Em loves getting her hair braided too and Addie just longs for the day that she can get hers done as well. It just sounds like our kind of place!

oh my! melody. as i sit here in the freezing cold nursing my frozen shoulder i am filled with delight at these shots. You have such a beautiful family and these shots sing peace and serenity and wonderful times together...
