Big News

How's that for suspense? Don't be let down, it really was cool for Natalya. Now she is...
... An earring wearing 7 year old!! She had been waiting for this for so long. It just hadn't been the right time. Then I found out that our pediatrician pierces ears at the office. It just seemed like the right time so I agreed. Natalya woke up excited. She brought her favorite horse to comfort herself. Two nurses did it at the same time which probably wouldn't have happened at the mall. She was so brave and only cried for a minute after. I kept asking her for the rest of the day if it was hurting at all but she said, "No." She looked in the mirror so many times today. My sweet girl. It's amazing how different she looks to me. We asked Vienne if she wanted to get her ears pierced (I would not have allowed it) and she said emphatically, "I don't want to!"

Ooohhh... we waited to have our girls' ears pierced also. They were probably 8 years old & 6 years old. Your post makes me want to go find their 'earring pictures'. Thanks for the pic & sweet reminder.
That is awesome! Yeah, for N! I think our day is coming soon, too...
That's great! She looks so cute with her earrings!
oooh, how pretty!
I am 34,and I STILL don't have my ears pierced. Don't plan on it at this point, either...
So cute !! I didn't get my ears pierced 'til I was 15 !! I always wanted them done earlier !! My 4 year old is still too worried about the pain to be interested ...
so cute -- she looks so proud!
That's big news! Looks gorgeous!
I was 19 before I got my ears pierced. The BA keeps on at me but I have said wait until she is at least 14. Don't ask me why. Something about deferred gratification maybe? Anyway, I suspect she will wimp out when it comes to the crunch...or pinch....or shot...whatever it is they do nowadays. :-)
She certainly looks beautiful there!!
Love the picture of Natalya. She looks so grown up! I didn't realize pediatricians did ear piercings (of course with two older boys I guess that's why). What happened to the ice, needle and potatoe method???Just Kidding!
Oh my, she looks so grown up! She looks beautiful. :)
She looks beautiful. Congratulations to her! I think my mom made me wait until I was 9 years old. I remember being excited about it. I had it done the old fashioned way with a needle, ice and a potato! Then dental floss in it for the first two weeks before my first posts. Crazy.
I waited until I was in college to have mine pierced, and I still had to take my friend to hold my hand. Congrats, Natalya! They look beautiful!
Additional sparkle to her natural sparkle of beauty. Gosh, do they really have to keep getting older?
they grow up so fast
