Team Up Thursday

This week at Team Up Thursday, Megan and I chose "selective focus" as our theme.  She is on the top and I am on the bottom.  Selective focus is very nice way to add interest and to make your photos look artsy fartsy.  Love Megan's wooden flower here and how she focused on the one but you can see the others are out of focus.  It could really be a fine art print.  Mine is of V at N's softball practice.  She's not actually watching her sister here but rather she's watching the other siblings play nearby.  Sorta has a dreamy feel to it.  Kinda makes me sleepy.

Speaking of sleepy, yesterday at about 2:30 I sat on the couch and fell asleep for 30 minutes.  It threw the rest of my afternoon completely off.  In my sleepy daze, I remembered that Natalya had riding lessons and that Vienne had to be at cheer early because they were taking pictures.  Then I also remembered that I had to have dinner done first so that they (meaning I) could eat before we all left.  Lesson:  Sometimes naps in the afternoon are worth the staggering around helplessly trying to make up time.

I am totally blown away by this "selective focus" - I NEVER EVER had set my focus how you did Melody - soooooo great!!!!! your themes are always so "out of the box" - that is what I love to bits. BRILLIANT SHOTS BOTH - you are fantastic :)

I can tell you prefer photographing people and Megan seems to like objects...have you noticed that??

I like the dreamy look in your shot. In a way, it compliments the wooden flower nicely. I think it's neat how you got the chain link in focus. :)

I feel like I could always take a nap. Between work and home if I don't immediately take care of kids, make dinner, and clean up I'll be sleeping through it all at the end of my day. LOL

Glad you liked the off center idea for a theme.

Oooo, dreamy!!! that photo says so much. you are so good at the creative thing. Oh, and altho I love my sleep...I am not a fan of the nap thing. It just throws the rest of my day off too much!

I love the dreamy effect in your photo, I wonder what she is looking at.
I love the DOF in Megan's, I wonder what the flowers are on.
I like photos that make me wonder.
