Randomness again. Dare I say I'd make it weekly? Naa, you'll just have to come back and see.
- Is it just my imagination or are girls' shorts really short these days?
- Just in case you haven't gotten the email for this blog yet, check it out. It's sooo funny. Thanks, Stephanie.
- The Hubs and I celebrated our 12th anniversary this weekend. He had to work so we have a babysitter for this coming Saturday. He (meaning I found it and sent him the link) got me something from this great site called Brilliant Earth. I do still have a problem with knowing whether a diamond is conflict free or not but I feel more confident in this company. And they use recycled gold as well. Cool.
- Do you ever go to etsy and just do a random search? Come on, I'm not the only one with ALL this free time. This is what I found one day. I want to come up with a reason to give it to someone.
- I think I just might move to be closer to a cupcake.
- I was thinking about Craig's List for some stuff. Anybody use Craig's List and have comments about it?
- The remakes of "Footloose" and "Fame" are coming out soon. The original "Footloose" is a classic. I don't know that I could see a new version. But I never saw the original "Fame" so I might be up for that.
- Does anyone else get bummed out when someone doesn't like your work for some reason? I know my style can't be everyone else's style and I know I can't please everyone all the time. But, I thought I did a great job. That's probably what makes it harder to swallow. A little vague, I know. But you get the gist.
- Only 6 more school days for us. I can't wait. No lunches to make, sleep in a little. I know I'll change my mind after a month of break.
- My house got cleaned and is now a mess again. You still can't come over.
A photo from a session I did about a month ago. Lovely lovely. Happy Hump Day.

Girls shorts are WAY too short this year. Happy Anniversary! I've had good experiences with Craigs List - both selling and buying.
Shorts: OH YES and they are wearing them out to nightclubs apparently!!!!
Congrats on 12 years! Good for you for opting for a 'green' ring...(I am guessing it was a ring?)
Comment on your work: I guess you can't please everyone all of the time but you would think they would have some idea of your style from flyers and so forth. Weird...
Happy belated anniversary...and nice gift! I'm not a big diamond lover anyways, but the conflict over them just makes me sick. So many people have been killed over them. :(
Let's see...uh, yes, their shorts are indeed rather short. I don't think I could see the new Footloose, but I could do Fame. And yes, it upsets me if someone doesn't like my work. I try to have the same attitude...I know I'm not everyone's style. If that is the case we shouldn't have wasted our time, though, right?
I love your random blog entries. They make me smile, and strange family photos and a vase with toes....I'd love a link to the actual piece of jewlery you got. There are too many choices on that site to just pick one. happy 12 years - enjoy your night on the town. If somoene doesnt like your work, they dont have good taste. I love sprinkles too. There are a couple of cupcake shops in Alamo Heights, let''s take an afternoon to find the perfect one in san antonio.
I agree about shorts. I LOVE those knee long ones that have come out lately though!
I got a great lens for my camera - actually 2 lenses and my camera - from craigslist. 1 of those was here in San antonio, the others were in Austin. Austin has WAY more stuff, at least in that dept. I'm a skeptic about Ebay, but I love CL because you can meet up and see the merchandise (and no shipping/ tax/ etc). Just don't ever "meet up" without your hubby with you, of course...
I love your style. Sorry to hear about the disappointment. Did they see much of your work beforehand? Because surely that would give them an idea of what they'd get. Although some people have an idea in their heads already and may not know how to communicate that effectively (and expect you to know their style instead of realizing they'll be getting your style...) This is one reason I'm not sure I could go pro. The critiques and criticism may be more than I could take.
i am loving your "whatever weds" -- the awkward photo blog made me guffaw at my computer...so apparently you are not the only one with free time :).
btw: i love your photo style...if i lived in texas, i'd hire you in a minute :).
have a great anniversary!
1) I WISH there was a Sprinkles here in S.A....but then I would have to get to the gym twice as much.
2) I just bought Abby shorts at target yesterday and could not get over how short everything is...not a fan.
3) You do beautiful work, it seems there are some ppl who will never be happy no matter what. I lose sleep if someone tells me they are unhappy with their photos. My stomach hurts, my head hurts, and it makes me wanna cry. I know exactly what you are talking about...no worries..your work is unique and beautiful.
4) Craigslist scares me a little bit...especially the people who want to sell a "gallon sized freezer bag full of unused McDonald's ketchup packets"...kinda creepy.
Thanks for your always entertaining posts!
Random searches on Etsy are fun. You're find is a little creepy though! Thanks for giving me another place for my husband to buy me diamonds. :0) I've never tried Craigs List and that photo is beautiful. Great flare.
OH YES on the girl's shorts. What the...??
J. actually gave me a gift visa card for my birthday because I'm constantly wasting time and finding stuff on etsy...from cute little bags to bolts of fabric...I can't stop!
Love the bling and congrats on your 12 years! I hope you have a great time this weekend!
If you ever come to visit LA - we'll take you to Sprinkles - although honestly? Eh. I've had better and not paid $5/cupcake and waited in line for 1/2 hour. But we'll take you!
And finally - I cannot imagine anyone NOT liking your work. Just know that you have enough fans and people who think your work is stunning. So bah! to them.
(My house has been cleaned/dirtied at least five times this week - and we are only 4 days in...)
