Whatever Wednesday

Ramblings, randomness, nothings for this Wednesday.

  • It's hot here and the girls have been enjoying the pool.  The outside temp has been in the mid 90s but the pool water is only at about 81 degrees.  Still too cold for me to get in.
  • Yesterday I stopped at Walmart.  I try to avoid Walmart because of many reasons but one main one being that I'm convinced it gives me headaches.  REALLY.  Walmart is notorious for not changing their light bulbs and those fluorescent bulbs flash when they need to be changed.  The flashing bulbs are awful for my head.
  • While I was leaving Walmart, all in about 5 minutes, I saw three things that seemed odd.  1)  A man pulled up next to me in the lot.  As I looked over my shoulder to back up, I noticed he was finishing off his beer.  It was in a mason jar.  I know that beer can look a lot like apple juice but it definitely had foam at the top.  I also know that when you pour apple juice into a cup that sometimes it gets a little foam.  This man was not an apple juice drinker.  2)  A car drove by with about 50 WWJD bumper stickers and a dog laying down on his dashboard.  A real dog.  I don't think Jesus would drive with a dog on his dashboard.  3)  A truck was pulling a trailer that was filled to the top with packaged hamburger buns.  Filled to the top.  There's no way that he just bought those from Walmart.  That can't possibly stock that many.
  • Today I saw a man eating a salad while driving.
  • Natalya had to lose riding lessons last week because of some attitude issues.  I hope it's just a phase, but stomping feet and complaining and whining and not being a good sister- I can't let it happen.  I felt just as bad as she did because I know she loves it so much.  Hopefully she got the message.
  • I am getting real annoyed at the California pageant girl.  Wardrobe malfunction?  Come on now.
  • My favorite singer right now is Ray LaMontagne.  He's who you want to listen to when it's raining out but I just love him all the time.
  • I found this cute cute site that has cute cute swimsuits for girls.  Gonna buy something for the girls from there, just can't decide what yet.
  • In case you are into free photoshop stuff, just in case, love this site for free downloads:  backgrounds, brushes.
  • I bought this shirt for Vienne for when she starts kindergarten in the fall.  It's soooo cute.
  • We aren't going to Hawaii until July but I feel like I have to pack now.  It seems like such a labor intensive trip that I can't help but think of all that I need to remember.
  • My house is a mess.  Please don't come over.

The end.

hahahahaha! I'm coming over right now.

Just kidding. I'm in my jammies. But, that's not stopped me before has it???

Jesus would SOOOO not drive with a dog on his dashboard. Because he didn't drive at all. He walked. Or rode camels.

Love, love, love Ray Lamontagne. "Let it Be Me" is my fave right now. You hear him in the Coffee House, right?

It's painful to see our kids cop some attitude. But, that last harsh act of discipline on my part seems to have worked for Priya. For now.

Finally....and this is a big admission.....................I have eaten a salad while driving. Seriously.

P.S. I was going to return the favor and get V the t-shirt that you got Deven. Glad you let me know that you beat me to it.

Oh yeah, packing for Hawaii???? NOW?????

Random comments to your randomness:

Beer in a Mason jar, while driving. I don't even know where to begin on that one. Pure class, I tell ya.
Walmart DOES incite headaches! I think it is the ridiculously loud PA system and screaming children as well.
LOVE Ray L. We are going to see him in July.
Poor N. - but you are a super awesome Mom for caring and correcting it now...she'll figure it out very quickly!
AND...we are ALSO going to Hawaii! We just decided. What island are you going to?

So glad I stopped by to read...I needed a laugh. It's true, you can see the strangest things in the Walmart parking lot...it's like going to the carnival sometimes.
Ray is also one of my new favorites...I wanna be like him when I sing and play.
Maybe we should put our heads together about what to do about pre-teen girls with tudes. I feel like the enemy on so many many days.

Thanks for the very entertaining post.

The only thing you need to pack for Hawaii is lots of money for some fruity frozen drinks and a bathing suit. Everyting else you can get there. Don't stress or you will not have fun!

Oh, I love those swimsuits! So many cute options...good luck on deciding.

We are having attitude issues over here, too. My little girl is really trying my patience lately. It mostly revolves around her not listening to me AT ALL and completely on purpose. *sigh* My patience isn't all that great lately so that isn't helping. Hopefully both our girls learn their lessons...and soon!

I also steer clear of Walmart, but some interesting characters sure frequent the place LOL!

ok, i had to read the three weird things you saw on the way home from walmart at least three times to fully comprehend them. maybe the walmart lights affected more than just your vision this time ;). i mean really...hamburger buns? maybe i just need to get out more ;).

That is classic.....truly classic.....I will be searching my Walmart parking lot when I need a laugh. Yes, you did the right thing mommy about the attitude. It is so hard, isn't it??? You are awesome and I am envious of the Hawaii trip. Super fun.....

I don't know if you read these....but I wanted to respond anyway. I was having a rough MOMMY couple of days. My oldest son has been acting up lately and I have even had to call my own mom for advice on handling his behavior. Anyway, today was another not so great day and I came upstairs to get away for a few minutes and happened to check out your blog. Rambling Wed. was just what this mommy needed....thanks for making me laugh when I wanted to cry.

I loved this post :-) You do see a lot of weird people out there don't you? Australia is just as bad. the BA and I love 'spotting' them. Attitude issues are all a part of life. Don't feel bad. It must have been pretty persistent though for her to lose her riding lessons. Good for you for saying it and meaning it. They don't realise that it really DOES upset us just as much as it upsets them. I say that to the kids in class....'DON'T make me give you a detention....I don't want to do it.....' :-)
How are the headaches now?

I have to agree with you on Walmart! I hate going there. I prefer Target but do have to run into Walmart every once in a whlile. I like organization, variety, and not over crowded. Walmart is not any of those! Thanks for info on the site on photoshop stuff, and always looking at girls stuff too, so I will check those girls sites out to! I have never been to Hawaii! That is going to be a great summer vacation!
