Trick or Treat
Smell my feet. Why do stinky feet always make kids laugh? We had a fun Halloween like always. I really don't think that an event involving candy could possibly go wrong anyway. I've mentioned before that we live on acreage. Trick or treating in our neighborhood would involve a car or lots of walking. So our neighborhood has Trunk or Treating. We head to our clubhouse and park in the lot. Those that are way cool decorate their car trunks and we walk from trunk to trunk. Well, it works. The kids had fun and got way too much candy. We usually go to the grands' house where we do the traditional house to house ring the door bell routine. We'll have to see what the girls choose to do next year.
Ever since Natalya was born over 8 years ago, we've almost always dressed as a family for Halloween. Vienne chose to be Dorothy sometime last year so that meant we had to follow suit. Natalya sorta got stuck with being the Lion.
She was a real good sport but has requested that she be allowed to chose her own costume next year. She says she doesn't even want to do what the rest of us do. I'd say we had a pretty good run lasting 8 years. Who knows. She may see how much fun we are having and join us anyway.
The family. Daddy was Tin Man and I was Scarecrow. I think we look pretty cute.
And the trunk. That's a tornado in case you can't tell. There be lots of tricks and treats this Monday. Go see.
Well, I'm ready to move on. The Halloween dec will soon be packed away and I'm taking Christmas out. Don't be a hater, I love Christmas decorations and I love seeing them for more than a month.

OMG! I love the costumes...and the trunk. Well, I know you love halloween as much as I do so I can't say I'm surprised at all the cuteness. Tell Greg he's a good sport too! You will have to do sexy next year, you are too sexy not too. I was cold. Took my coat off for pics and when I was inside. Hope the Christmas decorations are up for our visit! =)
ok, cutest halloween family ever. and btw: i would never be a hater about xmas decor. frankly, i think that's what the four-day thanksgiving holiday is for...to decorate for xmas :).
what a great family photo. i love it!!!
How fun! I love that- trunk or treating! The pictures are fantastic! I love how you're all coordinated! =D
"don't be a hater"... you crack me up! She may not have had a choice but N makes a stinkin' cute lion! And that family shot...too cute! Aw come on - use it for your Christmas card!
Sounds like we aren't the only ones with success at a Trunk or Treat. Harrison wore a combination of medieval knight (helmet) and an Obi Won Kanobi (Star Wars) outfit. Love the color of the backdrop.
Super cute! You all look great and wow what a trunk ;)
BTW-I remember from last year you put up Chrsitmas stuff....like next week. By Thanksgiving you will have had it up for weeks!!
:)
I love it! You do such a good job in being creative with your costumes. You all look very cute. I love your "trunk", too. Great stuff, there. :)
Oh how I wish I would be able to take out Christmas early. I usually do the day before Thanksgiving, but it is really, really, really doubtful the basement will be finished by then. We'll see.
FABULOUS! The whole family! And I love the idea of Trunk o' treating, that is efficient and fun.
I took down all of our Halloween decs yesterday - haven't gotten all my holiday stuff out, but I'm like you - I love Christmas! I just wish the stores waited until after Halloween - I like clear delineations of my holidays, I guess. :-)
I think you guys get the award for coolest costumes. LOVE the coordinated Wizard of Oz theme...even the trunk fits in! Too awesome, you rocked it!
Oh, and I love Christmas as much as the next person...but we've had Christmas stuff out at work for 2 months already, which is just WRONG!
I haven't heard of Trunk or Treating before, but it makes so much sense ~ and I love how you set yours up. Family costumes are so much fun & you guys look wonderful!
Excellent! Looks like lots of fun! Something for all to look forward to. Oh how we miss that American spirit!
You guys look great! I just found about trunk or treating this year, someone at work was telling me about it. What an excellent idea! I was thinking in rural areas like where I live something like that would be great rather than driving around. Although my parents do look forward to my son trick or treating at their house. ;)
And well, indpendence comes too quick sometimes, although she makes an adorable Dorothy.
I love the costumes! Yall are so cute!
fantastic!
You guys sure did it right. What awesome cossies. I once wore a Dorothy dress like that in a show I was in! I had a black and white version which I ripped off under a strobe light to reveal a red and white one. Did you make V's? Super job. As for daddy! COOL!!! Natalya's turn next year. All these family traditions have to morph and change with the years I've found.
I like the idea of a trunk or treat. For some reason the idea of children wandering willy nilly through the streets and knocking at random doors bothers me. I did it when we lived in Canada when I was 12 and it was GREAT but I am old and fuddy duddy now. An organised event soothes my control freak soul :-D LOVE your trunk too, especially the witch's legs hahahahahahaha WAAAAAY Cool!
We need a trunk or treating in our neighborhood with everyone living so far apart. That sounds like a lot of fun. What a fun family costume theme! If there was a contest I bet you one first place!
You all are too cool! Love it!
The whole Wizard of Oz theme suits all of you so well. You all look great! I think it was a good 8 year run too....Its great that you are letting her branch off on her own costume next year. I bet she will have great fun with it.
