Momma's Girl

Vienne goes to school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  And while she gets a nap time there, I let her stay awake this week while she was home.  Frankly, it's because I want her to fall asleep around 7:30 instead of 9:00.  So last Friday, she asked if she could stay awake, I said "Yes" but that would mean that I would have to have some time on the computer while she played alone.  She kept asking me to play hide and seek.  I said, again, let me have just a little time on the computer.  So, maybe to remind me that she was waiting, she decided to set up camp behind my chair.  Blanket, pillow, friends.  And she waited.  But only for a short time before she was out like a light.  She still needs her rest but will fight it as hard as she can.

Oh, that is great. My daughter does the same thing. She fights it with all her might and I know she really needs a nap, but it sure does make bedtime easier and earlier. She has never passed out on the floor like this though. I am so glad you got a picture of her. So very sweet.

Oh, that is so sweet! She still sucks her thumb just like Anya, too. One of theses days our girls will grow out of it, right?? Both our kids have been known to pass out on the floor on occassion. They fight it for all they are worth, but sometimes they really need that nap.

Sweet picture! Kids can fight nap time all they want and sometimes you can even encourage it, but sleep just sneaks up and gets them somedays. :)

Oh My...how sweet. Just reminds you of how much she is still your little baby. Precious.

Oh, she's so sweet~ Naps, came and went here when our kids were very young...I remember there were more than a few times that I thought I would not make it through a non-nap melt down, ah, yes.. sweet memories :)

Mel - that is an incredible shot. She looks so beautiful and peaceful. And your floors are so beautiful and clean. I am torn between wanting a little peace in the afternoon, or wanting them in bed at 7:30 and getting my peace then. Sometimes I think they decide that for us!

Man, my kiddos have never just fallen asleep in our home anywhere but their room. What a sight that must be to see someone asleep on the kitchen floor. I might add what a clean looking floor, no food droppings?

That is the sweetest! She must have been a very tired girl...

Great picture! I'm amazed at how close you got to the floor and how clear it is.

Those are some pretty clean floors!! LOL! She is adorable laying there. Harrison skipped his nap today and we both started to fall asleep in the arm chair about 5:30. I immediately realized it got us up to take a walk and eat dinner. He was in bed by 7:30 this evening! Yeah!

I love the reflections on the floor in this photo. Is it so long since the BA asked me to play with her? Feels like forever but it is probably only 5 years. Wow. That's a lifetime. She's off at her dad's this weekend. I feel a bit teary now so I'll just go....

That is too sweet. I love that she just curled up right there.

Oh, I love that. And I know that battle--nap or 9 p.m bed?
Is it wrong that some days I wish there could be nap plus 7:30 bed?
