Man, Monday Comes Fast
When you're having fun without the kids. We left them at the grands on Saturday for a sleepover while Greg and I went to a dinner for his work. We decided to stay downtown at the hotel that the dinner was being held at. Kinda fun to have a getaway but we did feel like we were missing the kids.
We had some time to waste so we stopped for coffee. I think I've mentioned before that I have a hard time relaxing. Just sitting drinking coffee is difficult. I kept feeling like I was late for something.
The Hubs. How cute is he?
I wore the shoes. I was worried about the height but it turned out the height was not the problem. It was the numbing of the toes after only 30 minutes. Once we sat down I started to regain feeling again. I was really worried that I was going to have to have my toes amputated for the sake of beauty.
The Hubs all cleaned up and fancy in his tux.
I felt like a bloody nose in a sea of black dresses. Taken by someone else.
The event was held by the hospital that Greg works for. They were honoring a big wig who has generously given loads of money to the hospital. It was such a great lesson in karma and what goes around comes around. The University had treated his wife years ago and in return he gave back to the hospital. You never know how you effect peoples lives sometimes just by doing what you do everyday. Greg is a transplant doctor. He goes to work everyday to do what he does and probably thinks of it mostly as a routine. But he has truly effected many lives. This is a gentleman that Greg did a kidney transplant on earlier in the year. He couldn't stop talking about how great he felt and how grateful he was to Greg. We're proud of him.
I don't know, My Best Shot for today? What do you think?

what HOT shoes!!! You two make a super fab couple. Your dress was as gorgeous as you....better to be a bloody nose than someone nobody remembers...that's what I say, anyway.
I'm picking the shoe shot as my fave!
Happy Monday :)
I HATE when I do that....you did NOT look like a bloody nose...you know what I meant, right? :)
ok, even though you didn't take it, the shot of you & the hub definitely is BSM -- what a fab couple (even though we can't see the toe-numbing shoes :).
i forgot to add: i hope you have more time with your hub than i have with mine: he's a pediatric cardiologist, so i feel your doctor's wife pain :).
What a fun night! You both looked STUNNING!!! Wow, your hubby has an amazing job...one that literally helps save people's lives! Those are the best kind of docs!
Oh, and I so know what you mean about sitting and drinking coffee. My hubby and I have been able to go out a few times recently and all I can do is think about the kiddos...
It may not be your best shot but those shoes look out of that world. :) Good for you for wearing red! Makes you more memorable at a big event like that in a sea of faces all wearing very formal black. I'm glad the event went well for you both. I'm sure the kids were ready with hugs and kisses to see you the next day.
I can't decide - I love the story behind the last photo, and I love the ode to Starbucks one (totally cannot just SIT and drink coffee either! Should work on that...) but the SHOES!! I really love that shot, and they are some kickin', hip shoes!
You two looked amazing...what a hot couple you are!
The shoes made the CUT. Hope they were comfy.
Glad that you got some private time with your hub, well you all the guests.
I know I told you before, but those shoes are freaking hot.
And about the baby buns on my blog: I should've stripped them down just for that shot, but I'm not sure how the other baby's momma would've felt about that....
NO VOTE ON THE SHOES HERE...I like the last shot, It's nice to be honored for hard work well done and although fashion is fun, wasn't the night more about the socialization and being reminded that your hubby is appreciated? And you are too...he couldn't do it without you so you deserve your cup of coffee, and a night without the kids.
You two are definitely a good lookin' couple! I love your outfit and of course, the SHOES! Yes, I have felt that feeling before, too, but have sacrificed my body to look fabulous. ;)
Your hubby's job is sure to give him lots of good karma - saving lives would do it if anything would. :)
Oh, you wore the shoes. They are gorgeous. Sometimes beauty just wins. You two look fabulous!!!
I didn't know he did transplants! Wow, that's amazing. You must be so proud of your man. It looks like quite the evening - you both look h.o.t! I'd say the shoes were worth it.
And I totally know what you mean about not knowing how to relax...
love this. and you look amazing! Those shoes are totally worth losing a foot. haha!
You must be so proud of your hubby!
My vote is the coffee shot with the city in the glasses. Very cool. Glad you had a great night out--you both looked divine!
SO nice that you got to get out without the kids. We all need to cherish those time with our hubby's. You look beautiful in red. What a hot Mama! I think your best shot is the one of hubby in the hallway. There is a nice mood in that picture.
I think I'll have to go with the shoe shot -- I don't think I could even get down my own front walk in those! ;) Kudos to you, and you both look stunning!
I LOVE that shot of your hubs in the hallway at the hotel. Super awesome.
Oh WOW! I love the red dress! You GO girl!
Amazing shots for sure...hard to choose a favorite! Glad you were able to enjoy the time away - doesn't it make coming back to the kids all that more exciting?
The shoe shot is a keeper - I LOVE those shoes, so Sex In The City. I don't even know your hubby, but I felt proud of him just reading this post. Now I really need to reevaluate what I want to be when I grow up :-)
I love the photo looking down at those shoes! Wow! You look great and way to be a rebel in a sea of black. What an awesome career your hubs has. It must be humbling sometimes just to hear the stories of the people he has touched - literally!
You rocked it out in that dress girl!!! I'm so happy you wore those shoes...hope the toes are feeling back to normal!
uh... bloody nose... NOT... one hot... bold... pretty... way to go... gal! i love it!
THOSE shoes... LOVE them too... numb toes & all! :)
and yes... too cute hubby!
You two looked amazing! And it looks like it was a great evening too!
