Thanks!

To everyone for your nice words of encouragement.  Yes, working on an official business.  Baby steps, probably some tumbles.  But I think it will be fun.

Question (PLEASE!) to you about the logo?  What do you think my business name is?  Jen, you are not allowed to answer because you know.  I want to know how everyone is reading it.  It may need to be redesigned.  It was very obvious to me, but it may not be to others.

And to answer a few questions, I am still working out a few things but hope to be official soon.  I am working on a website but it's just not as easy as it seems.  I am really trying hard to get it to look original and somehow I have hit a wall.  I may have to get some help.

I've already had lots of very nice people trust me to take their photos. Here are a few:

It's raining dogs here right now which I guess is good because it's been dry for so long.  But it's sideways, windy rain.  I'm glad I'm home and not out.

Woohoo, evidently I can comment here again! I have't tried in a while since it used to always kick me off.
Anyway, I read it as "Rockin' A Photography." Which I think is an awesome name!
So excited for you!

I read the logo the same was as Christina. I should admit that first I thought it was "A Rockin'" but it only took me .3 seconds to realize that I am a dummy and that it didn't make any sense that way.

Great shots -- you are going to be so successful!

I read the logo A Rockin' Photography. I love the name. I could see it being Rockin' A Photography - either way it sounds great.

I read it as Rockin' A Photography....kinda like a Ranch, south Texas Hill country style. I love it. Very hip and cute at the same time. I think the people who live around here will get it.

I read it as Rockin' A Photography; however, it could be read the other way. I think because I know your last name from e-mails, that I read it that way.

Love the shots you have posted - great job!

I read it at first as A rockin' because the big A caught my eye..but think it is Rockin' A since that makes more sense and the rockin' is in front of the A....I really don't know what the official name is though.

I read it as A Rockin' Photography initially. But then that didn't make linguistic sense to me. Not sure which way it goes, and I knew that looking at it. I think that's okay though b/c it's a cool logo/watermark. On the other hand, I can understand why you want your business name as very clear versus ambiguous or unsure. So, to that end, this poll will help!

Good luck to you. I'm new to your blog and such, and I can't wait to follow you in this new endeavor. It's something I play around with in my own head, so I can't wait to see where it leads for you!

Congrats!

I read it as Rockin "A" Photography....I assumed the "A" was for your last name.....Yes??

Rockin A Photography. If that's it, it made sense to me. Sign me up when you start!

Rockin' A Photography is how I read it. Yes?

How far are you from Dallas? I have friends in Dallas with an adorable little girl that I will definitely refer to you if it's feasible...

AWESOME! I for one love it! BTW....I am in Texas this week in Austin.....not sure where you live, but HELLO from Texas anyways!

I saw "Rockin' A" cos I was looking for it to make sense and A Rockin doesn't. ;-) Your shots are so unique. You capture personalities rather than turning out stereotypical studio portraits! Talented? Rockin' A!!!!!!

I love it - especially because it's different and not another boring name like "nicole's photoghraphy" or "photos by nicole." The name even sounds fun! Who wouldn't want their photos taken by Rockin' A Photography? The logo design is great, too. Just enough Texas kick to it!

I like that you would choose a name that is a little different. Your site will always be unique as you are naturally very creative.

i saw the "A" first, but then figured out it must be "Rockin' A" -- people won't forget it if they have to think about it :). it's a great name!

I read it as A Rockin' at first...but I'm guessing it must be Rockin' A...love the name!

I must admit, I am not sure what it is either A rockin or rocking a - i love the logo but it is confusing.
no one really cares though because your pictures are so great.
i am so excited for you. you have found your gift and are living a dream. CONGRATS!

Good for you!!! I have been waiting to do the website thing too, I'm thinking blog first, website a bit later after testing some things out. I'll take a look at the logo and give you some feedback. I'll try to share with you any pointers I learn along the way too! :)

Here's to starting your own business!!!

I see what everyon's problem is. Maybe try making it more like a brand. Put an arch at the bottom. Maybe look into the history of brands and how they came up with the unique brands. You could even make the rockin' part arched at the bottom. Just my thoughts..... Great Blog by the way!

Rockin' A! Love it. Best of luck. You've got such a wonderful talent.

LOVE the logo. (Sorry, just getting caught up here!) And am so excited for your new venture, if ANYBODY should be shooting professionally - it is you, my friend.

I also did read it as A Rockin' Photography at first but am guessing that it is Rockin' A? Maybe if you make the A a little lighter so that it is more in the background and forces you to read Rockin' first? Just a thought. At any rate - you are going to need some serious help because you will always be booked!

You will do fabulous, I am sure of it! I am in the throes of the biz launch myself. It's been A LOT of work, all-consuming. But I feel it will be worth it. Good luck and keep us posted!! All of your photos look wonderful!!
