To Us

Greg and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary yesterday. Ouch. 10 years. Where has the time gone. Let's see... We've had two kids, lived in 6 homes in 3 states, driven 5 cars, fed 8 pets, owned 5 computers, and Greg has worked in 10 hospitals. Seems like a lot for just a short ten years.
We celebrated at Silo. Yuuummy. It's always a treat to have dinner without the girls but it's much better when the food is great. Happy Anniversary, Honey. Can't wait to see what the next 10 bring.

Home is Where They Lay the Foundation

We've been waiting awhile for this. They finally poured the foundation to our new house. Can't wait to get to the good stuff.

Blue Polka Dot Bikini

The weather has been wicked crazy. We finally got a break from the rain and then were drenched again last night. The backyard has been a mushy pit. It didn't rain over the weekend and the temp got into the high 80's which means it's sprinkler time (and the backyard is again mushy.)
I've been practicing taking pictures on the diagonal as assigned by Tracey Clark at Picture This. I tried to get something a little more subtle but my Sweet V is just so darned cute and you just can't avoid the many diagonals in this picture.

Hiking at Friedrich Wilderness Park

This weekend we decided to take the girls "hiking" at Friedrich Wilderness Park in northwest San Antonio. The Hip Chicks did better than we thought they would since our girls are not really the energetic types. Natalya held the map and helped identify the species of trees and plants that were labeled. Vienne hunted for bugs.

It's hard to imagine that such a wonderful natural area could exist so close to the big city of San Antonio (although you can still hear the rush of the highway nearby.) The Park has several trails of varying levels. We took part of a trail that was a level 3 that led to one of the "oldest working windmills in Bexar County". The only wildlife we saw were a few cardinals and one squirrel but our own Wild Life were not so peaceful and probably scared everything away.

The girls actually want to go back. I recommend bug spray although I was the only one that got bit. It's a great free few hours.

This will be My Best Shot Monday. I overlooked the memo that said we were to tilt this week so I will work on that. Check it out at Picture This.

Does not play well with others

Do you ever feel like you've mustered up enough energy to take your child to the park so you just don't want to play with someone else's child? I took Vienne to the park today and we were having such a nice time. Vienne loves to play with other kids but for some reason she had no interest in the boy that decided to attach himself to us. My conversation with him went something like this:

Boy: "I'm five."
Me: "Congratulations."
Boy: "I have pink eye so I had to stay home today."
Me: "Pink eye. Isn't that contagious?"
Boy: "Ummm. I have pink eye."
Me: "Thanks for warning me. Vienne, here's some magic soap."
Boy: "I have a dog."
Me: "Does he have pink eye?"
Boy: "Huh? Can you push me [on the swing]?"
Me: "Who brought you to the park today?"
Boy: "My mommy."
Me: "Where is she? She may push you a little better that I can."
Boy: "Uh, she's over there."
Me: "Is that her reading?"
Boy: "Yea."
Vienne: "I'm ready to go."
