I Love...

...Photography.

I've been interested in photography for as long as I can remember.

Thinking back, I still remember the Kodak Disc Camera.  I hope there's someone else out there that remembers it too.  I can't be the oldest one here.

Before kids, I took a darkroom class.  I loved being able to watch the image appear right before my eyes.  I guess that's kind of the same gratification you get using a digital camera.  I'm one who usually has to load my pictures as soon as possible just to see what I got.

I'm still learning of course.  Would love to take a workshop soon.

It's always nice to be able to share my work.  Thanks to the awesome Tracey Clark of Best Shot Monday (and MANY other creative ventures) this photo of girls (they think they're famous now) got into Artful Blogging.  Tracey and the story of Best Shot Monday is in the current issue which is filled with tons of creative ideas and inspiration.  What is kinda cool also is that that photo above mine is by Megan of Mental Inventory, my Team Up Thursday partner.  So we were puttin' together diptychs before our Team Up collaboration.  I guess our photos were meant to be together.

I think this might be my new favorite quote.  Here's to a mud-lucious and puddle wonderful weekend.

(Oh, and linkin' the blog over at Blessed Moon today.  So fun so find new blogs and get inspired.)

Great post! And yes, the disc camera was my first camera of my very own!! :)

You are a wonderful photographer, Melody! And yes, I do remember those cameras. ;)

I would love to take a workshop, too. There was one that came to town here by a popular photographer, but I am not overly impressed with her photography skills. Business wise, she is great, but she was teaching photography and I think I know more than she does in that area. I'd rather not travel too far. Of course, if I spent as much as most of them cost on a workshop, my husband would probably like me to actually get my butt in gear and build a photography business. Hmmmmm, not ready for that.

you love photography and it loves you! You've got talent written all over you, Melody. I think it's terribly awesome you were "published" too!

Now you KNOW you are definitely NOT the oldest one here! That honour MUST belong to me :-D...but even I don't remember the Disc camera. I don't know that it made it to Australia? Mind you I was spoiled as I always inherited my father's cast off (usually SLR) cameras!
How amazing that your photo made it into the magazine!!!! eeeeeeeeeeeeek (squeal of girl excitement!!!!!) You certainly have a gift......that shot of the baby in the knitted 'peapod'....*sigh*

I had the disk camera, too! My beloved aunt gave it to me for my 8th grade trip to Washington, DC. I felt so important....

The Kodak Disc. Wow! Yeah...you are certainly not the only one who remembers that.
That is true serendipity that you and M. were in the magazine together before TU Thurs. even started!
And I love that the girls think they are celebs now...they certainly are modeliscious enough.
And yeah...that quote most definitely rocks.

Love that shot number 4. The grin knit baby wrap is so cool. I wish I'd known about those when E.C. was smaller. :) I'm glad your photography is taking off so well. Recognition and appreciation are awesome things to have. :)
